IRON LYNX LOOKING TO FINALIZE POTENTIAL IN IMOLA

IRON LYNX LOOKING TO FINALIZE POTENTIAL IN IMOLA

TWO-CAR LINEUP READIES FOR HOME ELMS RACE

The European Le Mans Series is set for a scorching hot weekend as it returns for Round 3 in the middle of a historic heat wave at Imola. Iron Lynx will bring the home advantage, but the environmental challenges are set to be tough for teams and drivers alike at one of the toughest circuits on the calendar.

Built in the 50s under the supervision of promoter Checco Costa (whose son Claudio would go on to become a legendary doctor), Imola is still a benchmark to this day despite the alterations made to make it safer and more versatile. Flowing through the green countryside just outside the Imola city center, Autodromo Enzo e Dino Ferrari is a drivers’ circuit. Blind corners, elevation changes, and tight sections are among the world’s most challenging, yet extremely rewarding for drivers.

Driving the #63 Mercedes-AMG LMGT3, Martin Berry and Lorcan Hanafin will try to build on the second-place finish they achieved at Circuit Paul Ricard. Now both committed to a dual programme in ELMS and FIA WEC, they come back to the European series with more experience. They will be joined again by Mercedes-AMG Performance Driver Fabian Schiller.

Coming off a solid showing at Le Mans, where it fought for a podium finish in the LMP2 class, the Iron Lynx Proton #9 Oreca 07 is back to the Italian venue with its full-season ELMS crew featuring Jonas Ried, Maceo Capietto and Matteo Cairoli. The car has been a frontrunner so far in Spain and France, although reliability woes jeopardized its results on both occasions. With a consistent run achieved at Le Mans, the team is determined to turn the promise into a good result at Imola.

We are excited to go back to Imola for another home race and to do so in the European Le Mans Series, where we have shown a positive form so far. The goal will be to keep the same pace we had in Barcelona and Paul Ricard and execute a clean race in both categories, taking advantage of the experience and mileage we put under our belt in Le Mans.
