IRON LYNX EXTENDS BELGIAN TRIP WITH SPA GT OPEN 500 ENTRY
Coming from its first points finish of the year in the 6 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps, Iron Lynx will stay at the famous venue for the second round of the International GT Open Championship.
The Europe-based series, featuring GT3-spec racecars, will provide the team with a chance to prepare for the European Le Mans Series event scheduled for August 23rd. This weekend, the GT Open will run a single race with a 500-kilometer distance (or 2 hours and 55 minutes).
Iron Lynx will be competing in the Pro-Am category with the #108 Mercedes-AMG GT3. European Le Mans Series regular Ameerh Naran, who has previously competed in GT Open in the past, will be joined by Danish Silver-rated racer Theodor Jensen. After a single-seater stint, Jensen moved to sportscars and won the European Le Mans Series and Asian Le Mans Series in 2025 in the LMP3 class.
Jensen, who is currently competing in the LMP2 category in ELMS, will make his first start with in GT Racing.
The Spa GT Open 500 is an interesting race. We are looking forward to being back in the series and experiencing the 500-km single-race format. The weekend will provide us with a great opportunity to prepare for the forthcoming ELMS event. I also want to welcome Theodor to the team. He achieved some strong results in prototypes and it will be fascinating to see him transition to a different style of car. We will support him and Ameerh to make the most success out of this weekend.
