IRON LYNX LINES UP FOR 2025 ELMS FINALE

IRON LYNX LINES UP FOR 2025 ELMS FINALE

Iron Lynx is back to the European Le Mans Series this weekend as the championship hits Autodromo do Algarve in Portugal for the series finale. A famous seaside resort made of beautiful beaches, tasty food and nightlife, and a paradise for golfers and kite surfers, Algarve is home to one of the most spectacular racetracks in European motor racing. It has also been the home of recent success for the team, which claimed the LMGT3 title in 2024.

Coming back after a disappointing experience at Silverstone, where the #63 car was crashed out of contention early in the race, the team is looking to end the year on a high on the ups and downs of the 4.653-kilometer venue. Martin Berry is aiming for another brilliant run after having achieved top-2 qualifying results in every round held so far. The Australian has been starring in qualifying, and proved fast on race trim too.

British racer Lorcan Hanafin is set to continue his positive for after setting the fastest lap in the recent Fuji Speedway FIA WEC race, while Mercedes-AMG Performance Driver Fabian Schiller will continue to guide the effort in what is expected to be glorious Portuguese Autumn weather.

Despite bad luck and a couple of mishaps resulted in three DNFs for the team, including the most recent one in the UK, two podium finishes highlighted the potential of the driver combination and the high-performance Mercedes-AMG LMGT3 racecar.

The #9 Oreca 07 LMP2 racecar will return for its final outing of the year in the hands of Jonas Ried, Maceo Capietto and Matteo Cairoli. The Iron Lynx Proton operation showcased similar high speed potential to the LMGT3 one, and also had a tough time in turn it into podium finishes.

The Portuguese weekend of the series follows an unique schedule. The race will be taking place on Saturday, with all the action getting anticipated by one day. Then, the teams will stop for testing on Sunday.

In Silverstone, we once again showed we are in the leading pack and that we can fight for the highest honours. The goal hasn’t changed for Portimao, where the team is even hungrier for success. With both our LMP2 and LMGT3 programs, we feel we haven’t achieved what we deserve, and everyone is looking forward to racing in Portimao. The competition, as we saw from testing, is incredibly close, and coming out on top won’t be easy. Still, we will give our maximum effort to make it happen.
