IRON LYNX SET FOR PIVOTAL ELMS RETURN AT SILVERSTONE

Moving fast from one part of the globe to the other, Iron Lynx has completed the trip back from America and the Lone Star Le Mans, and is already back in Europe in time for round six of the European Le Mans Series.

Coming from a solid second-place finish in the 4 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps, the #63 Mercedes-AMG LMGT3 and the #9 Iron Lynx Proton Oreca 07 are set for one of the most anticipated rounds of the season, featuring the UK return of ACO-sanctioned racing at the 4 Hours of Silverstone. The state-of-the-art British circuit makes its way back to top-tier endurance competition in a pivotal moment for the series, which has multiple squads in contention for the title.

With two podiums to their credit, Martin Berry, Lorcan Hanafin, and Fabian Schiller are sixth in the LMGT3 standings, only seven points away from the lead, and have a clear potential to use for the final two rounds. Berry has taken three pole positions so far, while Hanafin, who is competing at his home track, has starred in all his driving stints, especially in the recent FIA WEC American round. On the other hand, Mercedes-AMG Performance Driver Schiller is set to lead the trio again with his knowledge and experience.

Driving the #9 Oreca 07, Jonas Ried, Maceo Capietto, and Matteo Cairoli continue to show great pace, although they faced bad luck so far, from some technical issues early in the season to the pesky VSC situations in Spa. The goal for them is to capitalize on what has been a winning potential. While the championship has already slipped away, there will be two more chances to rebound for them.

It is a positive moment for us in the European Le Mans Series, and we are also coming from COTA where we demonstrated good potential. I think we showed right from the beginning that we have the potential to win this Championship so it’s now time to maximise everything we can for the last two rounds of the series. The conditions will be challenging this weekend as rain is expected to come and go until Sunday when it will most likely be a wet race. It will not be easy to come into qualy and race with the right setup and be well prepared, but we can rely on a great driver lineup and a strong team to make the right steps towards the podium.
