IRON LYNX WRAPS UP SOLID SPA GT OPEN 500 WEEKEND WITH P8

Iron Lynx secured 8th place in class in today’s Spa GT Open 500, the second round of the 2026 GT Open Championship. The team lined up for a one-off appearance in the series just one week after competing in the 6 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps FIA WEC race.

The pairing of Ameerh Naran and Theodor Jensen delivered a solid run, staying clear of trouble throughout the 175-minute distance despite tricky weather conditions, with a damp track and intermittent rainfall. Starting from the 10th row of the grid — based on the average lap times of the two qualifying sessions — the team had a challenging start in the pack as the rain fell, but soon fought back, gaining 10 positions and finishing 8th in the Pro-Am class and 15th overall. Both the Zimbabwean and the Dane left a strong impression, delivering clean and consistent drives.

Iron Lynx is now ready to switch to Le Mans mode, with the iconic French race getting underway in just over 15 days, beginning with Pesage.

It has been a positive race today at Spa-Francorchamps. We didn’t have the easiest start to the weekend, but we made strong progress that continued throughout the race. Ameerh improved consistently lap by lap and proved very solid, while Theodor was impressive, matching the pace of the frontrunners. I think we have done a good job as preparation for the coming European Le Mans Series rounds, and especially for the one here at Spa. As a side note, everyone at Iron Lynx wants to congratulate Mercedes-AMG Motorsport, Maxime Martin, Fabian Schiller, Luca Stolz and Maro Engel on their amazing win in the 24 Hours of the Nürburgring.
