IRON LYNX ANNOUNCES NEW DRIVER LINEUP FOR #60 FIA WEC CAR

GILBERT, RUEDA, HANAFIN TO DRIVE FOR REMAINING 2025 FIA WEC EVENTS
Iron Lynx announces that the #60 Mercedes-AMG LMGT3 car will feature an all-new lineup for the 24 Hours of Le Mans and for the remainder of the 2025 FIA World Endurance Championship season.
Following an unfortunate physical issue that emerged before the 6 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps, Claudio Schiavoni will not be available for the legendary 24-hour race and for the following race, the 6 Hours of Interlagos in Brazil.
In order to provide stability to the team, and time for his recovery, Schiavoni elected to step out of his ride and allow for a new line-up to join, providing consistency throughout the series’ marquee event and the final rounds of the year.
The team is thus delighted to welcome a new trio consisting of Andrew Gilbert, Fran Rueda and Lorcan Hanafin
A British-born bronze-rated driver, Gilbert is coming from a tech entrepreneurial background and started racing in 2022 in a so far positive progress journey.
Hailing from Spain, Rueda has a a wealth of GT racing experience, and is a proven race winner with an impressive resume.
Hanafin, who is also a UK native, is already competing for Iron Lynx in the ELMS and will step up to FIA WEC after some extremely strong showings including a podium in the most recent round at Circuit Paul Ricard. He joins his ELMS teammate Martin Berry, who made the step to FIA WEC on the #61 car.
The three teammates will be making his debut in FIA WEC and at the 24 Hours of Le Mans, but already had the chance to race at Circuit de la Sarthe in the Michelin Le Mans Cup.
The trio recently had the chance to sample one of the three Silver Arrows that will be competing at the famous twice-around-the-clock event. On the #61 car, there will be the confirmed trio of Martin Berry, Lin Hodenius and Maxime Martin, while the #63 car will feature the father-son duo of Stephen and Brenton Grove, partnered by Luca Stolz.
Andrea Piccini – Team Principal & CEO
“We want to welcome Andrew, Fran and Lorcan to our FIA WEC team. We are looking forward to working with them at the 24 Hours of Le Mans and for the final part of the season. I think they will merge very quickly with the team and we hope to give them the best Le Mans debut experience. On the other hand, we are very grateful to Claudio for allowing us to seek stability for the final part of the year with a consistent driver line-up. We hope to see him return to the track as soon as possible and to have him supporting us in Le Mans. We think consistency will be beneficial both to end the season in a solid fashion, and to prepare for 2026.”
