IRON LYNX KICKS OFF SECOND HALF OF 2025 FIA WEC SEASON AT INTERLAGOS

Echoes of a legendary past are welcoming teams and drivers of the FIA World Endurance Championship this weekend in Brazil, as the series lines up for its fifth round of the year, the 6 Hours of Sao Paulo.
Located close to the city center, the freshly repaved track has many famous sightseeings including the world-famous Ayrton Senna mural, and T1, the Senna S, one of the world’s most iconic corner combinations.
But the aura is not the only fascinating aspect of the overseas trip. The whole track is renowned for its character, made of challenging, cambered and flowing corners and tricky race situations.
Back from a promising yet ill-fated run in the Euorpean Le Mans Series at Imola, and from the 2025 Le Mans 24 Hours, which handed the team its first FIA WEC points this year, Iron Lynx is approaching the second half of the season with the goal of achieving more progress.
The team will be relying on the new Mercedes-AMG LMGT3 racecars, making their maiden start in the Americas, and their high-potential drivers.
The #60 car will feature the return of Andrew Gilbert, Fran Rueda and Lorcan Hanafin, who joined the Iron Lynx FIA WEC operation for the 24 Hours of Le Mans. The famous race didn’t bless them with good luck as it was curtailed by a mechanical issue. Still, they are looking for a rebound on arguably the series’ most particular destination.
Driving the #61 car, Martin Berry will rejoin Lin Hodenius and Maxime Martin. The Australian, who notched his second ELMS pole at Imola, has resolved a previous scheduling clash and will eventually be able to race at Autodromo José Carlos Pace. Coming from the points finish and their Hyperpole access at Le Mans, the trio is looking forward to climbing more steps.
In addition to the new tarmac, a brand-new tyre, the Goodyear Eagle Hard was introduced to prevent degradation due to the relatively cold temperatures of the Brazilian winter. That is expected to have an even more pronounced levelling effect on the field.
We are continuing our efforts to maximize the package and build on the positive outings we had in terms of execution and operation in the last few rounds. Drivers are very motivated to enjoy what will be a new and particular experience for most of them. Hopefully we will have a bit more pace to go support them and achieve a solid result.
