LAMBORGHINI IRON LYNX CONTINUES TESTING EFFORTS WITH LAMBORGHINI SC63 RACE CAR

Lamborghini Iron Lynx concluded a successful test session at Almeria as the development efforts continue on the Lamborghini SC63 LMDh prototype ahead of its 2024 debut. The car ran in a three-day programme which included reliability and system tests.

The Spanish track, located in the Southern region of Andalusia, is a perfect location for testing with its variegated 4.2-kilometer layout, and the team maximized the opportunity, logging around 2.000 kilometers with no major issues to report.

Driver duties were spit by Lamborghini Squadra Corse Official Drivers Andrea Caldarelli and Romain Grosjean. While the Italian has been a stalwart of the project since day one, the 37-year-old Swiss racer had the chance to sample the new LMDh machinery for the first time, equally splitting the mileage with his teammate. The former Formula 1 driver provided an additional wealth of experience to the development efforts.

Lamborghini Iron Lynx will now continue its European testing programme as it readies for a pivotal trip to the USA in preparation of its 2024 IMSA run. The team will test on some of America’s most iconic racetracks, which will provide key insight on a different style of racing compared to the one experienced in the WEC and in Europe.

Testing at Almeria went very well and we are particularly satisfied as we saw consistent improvement, which is promising ahead of a pivotal and challenging stage of our preparations. We were also delighted to welcome Romain to our LMDh programme after seeing him in action in GT Daytona earlier this year. We are bracing for a very important set of test days to kick off our American operation as well.
