IRON LYNX POISED FOR HOME ELMS WEEKEND AT IMOLA
Iron Lynx returns to its home track this weekend as the European Le Mans Series is back at Autodromo Enzo e Dino Ferrari. Coming from a period of meticulous preparation that followed the 24 Hours of Le Mans, the team is prepared for some heated competition at the 4 Hours of Imola. While the action has begun with rainy conditions in testing, full-on summer is expected to come back for the weekend. Fresh off two impressive runs at Barcelona and Circuit Paul Ricard, the #62 and #63 crews will keep cool and chase constant hydration – in addition to good finishes – at the tough Italian venue.
The Team Qatar by Iron Lynx crew returns with solid conviction after its run at the 24 Hours of Le Mans. The #62 car crossed the finish line of the great race, marking a pivotal moment in the history of Qatari motor sport. Two-time polesitter Abdulla Al-Khelaifi will try to keep his hot streak and go three-for-three in Italy. Julian Hanses will continue to provide his top silver support while Mercedes-AMG Performance Driver Maxime Martin will be up for his second-ever ELMS outing. They will be surrounded by gleaming silver. The #62 car, which debuted a unique livery inspired by the Silver Arrow concept for the 24 Hours of Le Mans, will continue to sport the same scheme for the European Le Mans Series, as a good omen for continuing the progress and promise throughout the rest of the season.
The trio of Ameerh Naran, Rui Andrade and Sergio Sette Camara will continue to chase good finishes after hitting the points zone in France aboard the #63 car. The Zimbabwean, the Angolan and the Brazilian are there to perform in every condition and continue to deliver solid execution. They all have solid experience at the tricky circuit.
Featuring tight and tricky up-and-down sections, and unforgiving corners, Imola is often regarded as a pure driving paradise. And one where Iron Lynx has wins to its credit.
Round 3 of the European Le Mans Series, and we are happy to be back at Imola, which is our home track and one of the world’s greatest race circuits. While it is exceptional to drive and always produces spectacular action, Imola is extremely challenging. It is technically demanding and unforgiving for drivers, while the races there normally carry significant strategy variables that need to be addressed. We have shown great pace at Barcelona and Paul Ricard, and we are confident our group will perform strongly, both in operations and on the drivers’ side. With good execution, we are looking to finally put it all together and fight for a solid result.
