TEXAS CHALLENGE AHEAD FOR IRON LYNX AT COTA

Scorching Texas weather awaits the teams and drivers of the FIA World Endurance Championship as the series returns from the summer break that began after July’s round at São Paulo. With its half point now well in the past, the championship stays in the Americas with a move to one of the more recent additions to the classic ranks of the schedule, the 6-hour Lone Star Le Mans at Circuit of The Americas. 

The United States Grand Prix venue is long, technical and instantly recognisable for its elevation changes, beginning with the iconic climb to Turn 1. It is also renowned for producing some of the highest tyre degradation of the entire season. Outside the competitive aspect, the circuit has grown into a true resort, now featuring rollercoasters and other themed attractions alongside an increasing number of amenities that keep transforming its landscape.

Confident to be able to continue showing strong pace after the promise of Interlagos, Iron Lynx is looking to bring its full potential to fruition and battle at the front. Driving the #61 Mercedes-AMG LMGT3, Martin Berry, Rui Andrade and Maxime Martin are chasing a podium, the same reward the Mercedes-AMG Performance Driver already claimed in the European Le Mans Series at Spa-Francorchamps.

The #79 crew of Johannes Zelger, Matteo Cressoni and Lin Hodenius is also looking for satisfaction, starting with the fight for Hyperpole in qualifying. A smooth performance in the race will be vital to ensure a chance to be contenders at the end and keep making great steps forward. The weather will provide an extra challenge, with high temperatures and a humid environment making perfect consistency even harder to reach.

We have had good pace in the last few events, and this is a track that suits us quite well. We want to be in the mix at the front throughout the weekend and fight for a podium spot come race day.  Tyre degradation is pretty high, and with our car we are able to manage it well, so the one we have here is a promising situation for the race. We want to support both our crews as they look to achieve their fullest potential and turn all the positives they have shown so far into results.
